The publication further stated that Mamta Yadav was offered a job after graduating from college in 2015, but she chose to forego it in order to prepare for the UPSC test.

Mamta was not happy with this rank and chose to repeat for UPSC even though it would have placed her in the Railways.

She studied harder this time around and retook the test in 2020. When Mamta Yadav saw the results, she was shocked and delighted to see that she had achieved fifth place.

For Mamta to pass the test, she needed mentoring in addition to independent study.

To help her pass the test, she studied NCERT and other resources.

Mamta states that in the past she used to study for eight to ten hours each day. But she thought that even with all of her studying, she wouldn’t be able to reach her goal, so she started studying for ten or twelve hours every day.

She stated in an interview that she truly shocked herself by receiving the fifth spot since she had only anticipated the rank improvement.

“There is no goal that you cannot achieve. You only need to work hard in the right direction to achieve that goal,” reported Zee News.
