No pressure to implement Wage Board proposals

BANGALORE: Assuring of the early implementation of the recommendations of the Justice Majithia Wage Board Committee for the newspaper industry, Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mallikarjuna Kharge informed that the issue has been referred to the PMO before routing it to the Cabinet for its perusal.He addressed the press here on Sunday that “the tripartite agreement between the government, employees and employers of the newspaper industry” needs to be studied in depth before implementation.The minister, however, denied that the government was under pressure from the newspaper industry against the implementation of the wage board recommendations.“The government is only a facilitator between employees and employers and there is no question to be bogged down by any lobby.”
