HYDERABAD: The Task Force police arrested two persons on Monday, who tried to deceive a person on pretext of selling a gold biscuit. Police also recovered 700 grams of a gold biscuit and two cell phones. According to police, the accused Kadavath Tukaram, a native of Ramachandrapuram in Medak district and resident of Srinivasa Nagar Colony and Mohammed Shabuddin, also from Ramachandrapuram and resident of Bombay Colony, were involved in selling fake gold biscuits. K Raghuram Redy, additional deputy commissioner of police, Task Force said Tukaram while plying passenger auto from Balanagar to Lingampally, came in contact with one Shabu of Haryana, who is working as a JCB driver. After a few months, Shabu returned to his home as his contract was over. About two months back, Shabu called Tukaram and told him his friend had found a gold biscuit while digging the earth. He then asked Tukaram to come to New Delhi and offered the biscuit at a cheaper price. Tukaram along with his friends Shabuddin, Krishna and Kanna went to New Delhi and met Shabu and his friend at Nuhu village. Tukaram was given a piece from the gold biscuit for testing and the three came back to Hyderabad.After testing the piece, Tukaram found 60 per cent purity. Then he made deal with Shabu to buy the biscuit for `3 lakhs while setting up a deal to deposit `1.5 lakh at the time of taking delivery and the remaining to be given in Hyderabad. In the third week of July, Tukaram and Shabuddin went to New Delhi and contacted Shabu. They were called to a park near India Gate where Shabu and his friend took `1 lakh from Tukaram and Shabuddin and gave a gold biscuit. Shabu and his friend followed Tukaram and Shabuddin to the New Delhi station. At Nizamuddin Dargah, Shabu’s friend created nuisance due to which Tukaram and Shabu fled from the place.As they were deceived of `1 lakh, they hatched a plan to find an innocent person to sell the fake gold biscuit. In this process they negotiated a deal for `1 lakh. They called the person to Madannapet Mandi where North Zone Task Force sleuths laid a trap and nabbed them.
