Three new handsets are coming to the Galaxy A series of Samsung smartphones, with China to receive them first in mid-December before the 2016 series expands to cover international markets.
The Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 smartphones are to provide a mid-range alternative to the Galaxy S series.
The 5.5-inch, 172g Galaxy A7 offers a full HD 1920 x 1080p display, a 1.6GHz Octa Core processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 3,300mAh Fast Charging battery, and support for LTE category 6 network speeds.
The A5 screen measures 5.2-inch, while the 132g A3 is both lightest and smallest of the three with a 4.7-inch display span, LTE cat 4 network access, 1.5 GB of RAM, and a 1.5GHz Quad Core chip.
The A5 and A7 both integrate Samsung Pay's Magnetic Secure Transmission and Near Field Communication payment systems, as well as a fingerprint scanner.
All three run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with 16 GB of onboard storage and a Micro SD slot for expanded capacity of up to 128 GB.
A Quick Launch feature means that owners can access the camera function "in less than a second," according to Samsung representatives, while a triple threat of self-portrait courting features manifests in the form of Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie and Beautifying Effects modes.
