At least 36 students at a government school here complained of nausea and vomiting after consuming iron and folic acid tablets, police said.
The students of the government school in Neem Ka Thana town were given tablets under the weekly supplement programme on Friday after which they complained of vomiting, stomach pain, and other problems, police said, adding the students were then taken to a hospital. Doctors at the hospital said the reason behind students falling ill was that the tablets were given empty stomach to them.
Additional SP Rakesh Kacchwal, Tehsilar Sima Khetan, Development Officer Rajuram Saini, and officials from the education department rushed to the spot after the matter was reported to them.
The children were discharged later after primary treatment, police said.
