Alia Bhatt on Monday took to her social media handle and expressed her concern over the viral dog assault case. She called it very disheartening and also shared a post that claimed that both the culprits ran away. The video has gone viral on social media and even netizens were seen seeking strict action against the accused.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Alia shared the post and wrote, “This is very disheartening’. The incident surfaced online showcasing two vet clinic staff brutally beating a pet dog. The shocking footage triggered widespread outrage among netizens. On February 13, a police complaint was also filed in connection with the incident. The incident occurred at Vetic Pet Clinic, which is located in R Mall in Thane. The clinic specialises in the grooming and care of pets.

In the video, a pet clinic employee can be seen repeatedly punching the Chow Chow dog in the face and back. A man filming the incident was also seen hitting the dog as it struggled. The dog was then seen getting off the stretcher and leaving the room while the man continued to kick it. Many people, including several Bollywood actors, have expressed their outrage over the viral video.

Nilesh Bhange, an office-bearer of the animal rights organisation PAWS, and a few other people filed a non-cognizable complaint after the video went viral on social media, an official told the news agency PTI. A magistrate’s order is required before police can look into a non-cognizable complaint, as per reports.

Written, created, and directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, the series stars Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. It follows a group of Indian Forest Service officers, NGO workers, police constables, and everyday heroes who risk their lives to investigate this case.
