Alia Bhatt recently thanked Samantha Ruth Prabhu for supporting her film Jigra at a pre-release event in Hyderabad. Alia also praised Samantha’s resilience during her speech. The event was attended by director Trivikram Srinivas and Rana Daggubati, alongside Samantha. A viral video from the event shows Alia Bhatt singing “Oo Antava,” the popular track from Pushpa: The Rise featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

“My dearest Samantha, you are a hero on and off-screen. I have so much admiration for your talent, for your resilience, for your strength. It’s not easy to be a woman in a man’s world, but you have surpassed gender. You stand tall on your two feet, and you have your talent, and your strong kicks to be an example for everyone,” said Alia.

The Jigra actor asked Guntur Kaaram director Trivikram Srinivas to cast her and Samantha Ruth Prabhu together in a film. She said, “And over here on this stage, not doing this for promotion, I genuinely mean it. Trivikram sir I think Samantha and I should be in a film written and directed by you. They say usually actresses compete with each other and all of that. But there’s no such thing. I am so, so grateful that today I have a pan India superstar here to support my film and say such kind words for my film.”

Samantha recently made headlines after Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s comments about her divorce with Naga Chaitanya. This was her first visit to Hyderabad since the controversy. While she addressed the issue on social media, she didn’t bring it up at the event.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina are set to impress audiences in their action-packed film, Jigra, which has quickly become one of the most talked about films since its announcement. Ahead of its big screen release on October 11, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the film a U/A rating. The film’s run time has also been revealed. As per the CBFC website, Jigra has been given the U/A certification and has a run time of 155 minutes.
