New Delhi: To mark their protest against the killing of an IOC employee in Lakhimpur Kheri district, the Oil Sector Officers Association has threatened to shut down all gas stations in UP on Wednesday.

S Manju Nath, an IOC sales officer, was killed by a petrol pump dealer's son in UP's Lakhimpur district on Saturday evening. His body was recovered in Sitapur the following day.

He had been working as a sales officer with IOC for the past two years. But his fight against the petrol pump mafia Uttar Pradesh became the reason for his death.

On his visit to the Mittal petrol pump, Nath had found that the pump was selling adulterated petrol. When it happened for the second time round, the dealership of the Mittal petrol pump was liable to be cancelled immediately.

Monu Mittal, the son of the petrol pump owner and four other men asked Nath to come over on the pretext of discussing the inspection and shot him dead Even though an FIR has been lodged, no action has been taken against Mittal as yet.

Members of the association say if no action is taken on the issue by Wednesday, then they will go a mass casual leave and shutdown of gas stations across the country.

The Oil Sector Officers Association is constituted of major oil suppliers ?IOC, BPCL, HPCL, IBP, BRPL and CRL.

The 27-year-old IIM -Lucknow pass out, had in fact told some of his juniors of how risky it was to be dealing with the petrol mafia. But who would have thought that the Satyendra Dubey story be revisited.
