Indefinite strike against speed governors

BANGALORE: Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association will go on an indefinite strike from December 11 mid-night if the state government fails to withdraw the notification on speed governors. The federation along with other lorry and transport associations will be forced to tread the path of agitation if the government failed to respond to our demands, said federation president G R Shanmugappa.Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said, “All commercial vehicles including lorries and tempos will not ply from December 11. This rule is not implemented anywhere in the country and we doubt a lobby by the manufacturers of speed governors. We have protested thrice in the last one year against this move.”
