DHENKANAL: Minister of Women and Child Development Anjali Behera inaugurated the 13th Dhenkanal Mahotsav at Kapilas on Monday.Led by mountaineer Kalpana Dash, Behera, Collector Bishnu Prasad Panda, SP Satish Gajbhiye and thousands of visitors climbed the peak of Kapilas for the Mashal Yatra. The six-day extravaganza will be celebrated in the gram panchayats from September 7. Aimed at promoting folk art forms, a district-level celebration has been scheduled during the Laxmi puja.Urging the locals to participate in the event and make it a success, Panda said the Mahotsav, in the past, has successfully promoted local talents. Representatives of different blocks, NCC cadets, social activists, students, farmers, administrative officials, police and panchayat representatives attended the event.
