3 killed, 9 injured as jeep carrying pilgrims loses control, hits a tree

Three persons were killed and nine others injured in a road accident in Kotwali dehat area in Mirzapur on Monday, police said.

The incident took place this morning when a jeep carrying pilgrims, lost control and hit a tree at Barkhha turn, while they were on their way to Sakteshgarh Ashram in Chunar from Bhadohi, they said.

The victims were identified as Sajivan Bind (40), Buddhu (40) and Santosh Yadav (24), who died on the spot.

The injured were rushed to a hospital, where their conditions were stated to be stable.
