'He Died A Hero': Man, Who Was Killed At Trump's Rally, Was A Former Fire Chief
The man identified as Corey Comperatore was a former fire chief and he died a hero, said Pennsylvania's governor Josh Shapiro

The attendee at the Trump rally, who was killed due to the gunshots fired in an apparent attempt to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, has been identified as Corey Comperatore, the authorities confirmed.

Comperatore was a former fire chief and he died a hero, said Pennsylvania’s governor Josh Shapiro. Deceased Comperatore was one of over 10,000 people who attended the event in Butler, Pennsylvania, part of Trump’s 2024 reelection effort.

“I just spoke to Corey’s wife and Corey’s two daughters,” Shapiro said Sunday. Corey was a girl dad. Corey was a firefighter. Corey went to church every Sunday. Cory loved his community. Most especially, Cory loved his family,” Governor Shapiro was quoted as saying by CNN.

He also said that Corey was an avid supporter of former President Trump and was excited to take part in his rally.

Meanwhile, ex-US President Donald Trump on Sunday said that it was divine intervention that helped him survive an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Urging fellow Americans to unite in ‘not allowing Evil to Win’, he said, “It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening.”

Former US president Donald Trump was injured after being shot in the ear during an apparent assassination attempt at an election rally in Pennsylvania after which a male attacker was shot and killed by a member of the Secret Service.

Trump, 78, was hit by a bullet in the upper part of his right ear when the suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue in Butler on Saturday, the US Secret Service said.
