70-year-old Man Is Spending Rs 33,000 A Week On Billboard Ad To Find A Girlfriend

Living alone can be challenging at any age, as humans naturally seek companionship to share life’s joys and sorrows. Recently, a 70-year-old man, feeling weary of loneliness, took an unconventional approach to find a companion. He rented a large billboard for $400, roughly Rs 33,000 per week, in hopes of finding an ideal woman for “marriage and karaoke.” As per a report by the New York Post, this one-of-a-kind billboard is placed near Sweetwater, Texas, in the United States and has proved to be effective.

The New York Post reports that Al Gilberti has received over 400 phone calls and 50 emails in the last two weeks. The 20-foot billboard features an image of Al Gilberti, along with the lines “Lonely Male Can Relocate Sweetwater” and “Seeks Female Marriage Minded, Enjoys Karaoke.” It also mentioned that he is a father of one and was previously married. He stated that the majority of the calls he receives are from people asking for money. The man feels hopeful that he will find the ideal partner soon.

For Al Gilberti, loyalty, honesty and sincerity are the three unwavering principles he is looking for in women. He also says he would move anywhere in the United States for the right person. If needed, he is willing to relocate to the UK as well.

Reportedly, the most recent one went up on April 2 and he received over 400 calls and maybe 40 or 50 emails in just over two weeks. He stated, “I have the calls redirected to a friend’s phone. It’s been more inquiries from people who are looking to gain something from me – which I get, I’d probably do the same! People were enquiring, thinking I was someone rich to help with their bills!” as quoted by the publication.

The man shared that he has been single since 2015 and was previously in a relationship with someone 26 years younger than him. He emphasised that age is not a barrier for him in finding the right partner, as loneliness can be experienced at any age. He expressed his willingness to adapt to the location of their first date based on the person’s whereabouts, highlighting his flexibility and openness to new experiences.
