OnePlus Open Apex Edition To Launch In India This Week: All Details
OnePlus Open made its debut last year in the market and now the company is bringing a new colour option of its first foldable.

OnePlus is launching its new foldable in the market this week. Well, technically it is going to be a new colour variant. The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is set to debut in India.

OnePlus has announced that the next iteration of its inaugural foldable phone will be launched on Wednesday, featuring a new colour option named Crimson Shadow. This updated version builds on the flagship experience of the original OnePlus Open, which won the title of “Foldable of the Year” last year, offering enhanced features and performance.

The foldable smartphone runs Android and is powered by OxygenOS. To compete with other foldable devices in 2024, the smartphone will also receive new functions. Upcoming features of the OnePlus Open Apex Edition include AI picture editing capabilities, improved storage and cutting-edge security measures.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is based on the Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition. The phone will have a vegan leather back panel with a diamond-like pattern, enhanced with orange accents on the Alert Slider.

The price and availability of the OnePlus Open Apex Edition are yet to be announced. The foldable device is 5.9mm thick at its thinnest point and weighs 239g. It has a book-shaped folding design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, with a main flexible display that folds inwards and a secondary display on the cover.

The main foldable display is a 7.82-inch 2K AMOLED panel with a variable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz (LTPO 3.0). The cover-mounted display measures 6.31 inches. It also has a 2K AMOLED display with a customisable refresh rate ranging from 10 to 120Hz. Both displays offer a 10-bit colour depth and support the full DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The OnePlus Open is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system-on-chip and comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. It boots the Android 13 operating system-based OxygenOS 13.2 interface, which is loaded with tools and features designed exclusively for the foldable form factor. These features include a desktop-style taskbar on the main display, as well as a recent folder for easy access to pictures, stored images, and other files.

The OnePlus Open boasts five cameras: three on the back, one on the main display, and one on the cover display. The camera system was developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. The OnePlus Open can record 4K 30fps videos in Dolby Vision.
