New Delhi: Your favourite virtual cards game just turned 25! Celebrating the silver anniversary of its classic Solitaire game, Microsoft is honouring the decades of fun by hosting two big competitions.

One competition will be held amongst its own employees. While the second, a global tournament, will see the best of Microsoft’s own Solitaire players against the game’s most skilled fans across the world. The same challenges used for the tournament for Microsoft employees will be released in the game for the world to play.

Microsoft notes in its blog that players will be challenged to bring their best to defeat the company’s best, from Klondike to FreeCell to Spider, TriPeaks and Pyramid game modes.

It was 25 years ago that Solitaire was installed in Windows and it remained pre-installed in the ubiquitous software till it was removed from the Windows 8 version. However, Microsoft recently announced that it is bringing the iconic game with its upcoming Windows 10 platform.

The global tournament will launch on June 5 to mark the game’s anniversary. So brush up your skills to defeat Microsoft’s best set of players.
