Jr NTR Opens Up About Devara 2, Shares Major Updates: 'We Have This Responsibility...'

Jr NTR starrer Devara: Part 1 is making waves at the box office after its release. The film was released across the globe last month. Amidst the film’s success, Jr NTR has shared an important update about the sequel – Devara 2. The actor revealed that the makers are taking a measured approach with the sequel to ensure that the movie meets the audience’s expectations after the first film.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Jr NTR spoke about Devara 2. The actor revealed that the team has shot a few sequences but they are taking the project ahead slowly. He also revealed that he wants the director of the film Koratala Siva to take an off so that he can come back to the project with a fresh mind. He said, “We’ve shot for a few sequences, but now we have this responsibility because part one is doing well. We will take a little more time to etch part two into something bigger and better, and something that excites audiences a bit more. We will be writing it, and I just want my director, Koratala Siva, to take a month off.”

Talking about Siva, Jr NTR continued, “I told him, ‘You know what? This is my gift.’ I said, ‘I am going to send you away from Hyderabad. Go for a month and a half, just go, have fun, and don’t think about anything. Come back, and then we will start writing for it again.’ Let’s just refresh, re-energize, rethink, recalculate, recalibrate, and then we will write Devara 2.”

Upon its release in North American theatres, Devara: Part 1 made more money at the box office when compared to Adam Driver starrer Megalopolis. Fans have been waiting for updates about the sequel and are expecting a film that is bigger and more grander. This film also marked the actor’s first solo release in six years since Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava which was released in 2018. He was last seen in SS Rajamouli’s critically acclaimed RRR where he shared the screen with Ram Charan.

Starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, Devara: Part 1 revolves around a man who embarks on a sea journey to protect his people.
