West Bengal: Mamata attacks BJP, Left over killing of jute mill CEO
CM Mamata Banerjee said, "Our state is known for peace and harmony. The state government is ready to combat these terror tactics at any cost."

Kolkata: Condemning the killing of a CEO of a jute mill allegedly by workers in Hooghly district, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday alleged that it was an act of the "CPI(M) and BJP goons".

"It is very unfortunate. I heard that the unions of the CPI-M and the BJP assembled at the jute mill with their demands and CEO HK Maheswari came out to hear them when he was beaten up mercilessly. On way to hospital he succumbed to his injuries," the chief minister said while pointing out that there was no employees union of the TMC there.

Banerjee alleged, "Terror is being unleashed with provocative speeches by BJP leaders since they came to power at the Centre after the Lok Sabha election. The CPI(M) and BJP goons are doing all this nuisance." "Yesterday, the CPI(M) and BJP goons had also killed four of our workers at Raidighi in South 24-Paganas district," Banerjee said.

Condemning these incidents, Banerjee said, "Our state is known for peace and harmony. The state government is ready to combat these terror tactics at any cost. "We will never allow such things to happen. Strong action will be taken and the culprits must be punished. Don't take our courtesy as our weakness. Law will take its own course and nobody will be spared," the chief minister warned. Banerjee also alleged a BJP and CPI(M) 'nexus', wondering "why they are pursuing this terror tactics for political gain at the cost of lives of common people".
