Mumbai: The Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini has undertaken a project titled 'Samagra Atalji', in which, the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's speeches, articles and interviews would be digitised.
The project would be formally launched in New Delhi on June 8. Former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam will be the Chief Guest at the function that will be presided over by the senior BJP leader LK Advani.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Vinay Sahasrabudhe, director of the Prabodhini, which is affiliated to the BJP, said that the main aim of the project was to preserve Vajpayee's thoughts in digital format, as a generation of youths was influenced by Vajpayee's oratory and ideology.
"We want the legacy to be passed on to the new generation, which is why, we decided to digitise Atalji's speeches, interviews, articles, poems," he said.
NDA convenor Sharad Yadav, BJP president Nitin Gadkari, Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, her counterpart in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley will be present on the occasion.
Sahasrabudhe have urged the people who possess video, audio or print clippings of Vajpayee's speeches, articles, interviews, to provide them for documentation purpose.
"The original copy will be returned to them and they would be felicitated," he added.
The audio and video format would be completed by December 2011 and the written format in December 2012. He said that the Prabodhini had already procured the former Prime Minister's speeches in Parliament.
