The BJP is poised to do very well in MP and looks likely to improve its tally in UP and Rajasthan by a large margin. CNN-IBN's deputy bureau chief Pallavi Ghosh joined IBNLive readers for an interaction on CNN-IBN's election tracker survey in MP, Rajasthan and UP.

Q. Hi Pallavi, your polls doesn't see a Modi wave in UP, then how can you explain BJP's rise there? Secondly, will the scenario change significantly once Modi starts campaigning aggressively in UP? Asked by: Himanshu

A. I think there is a wave for BJP anyway and Modi will certainly add to it specially when he begins campaign.

Q. As per your poll I see the top performing states in terms of satisfaction and otherwise are non congress led states. How is this likely to turn out into seats in 2014 GE? Asked by: Abhinav

A. Usually trends state and central polls are different but price rise is a huge problem and its the centre which is bring blamed and that's the biggest challenge for Congress.

Q. Has RahulG and Cong given up on UP?? A recent news report on rediff.com mentions that Madhusudan Mistry is busy sidelining senior Cong leaders from the State. Won't it backfire? Asked by: Shiladitya Bose

A. It will definitely problem is the generational change always throws up problems but in states like UP Cong needs to be careful and many ministers from UP say they want to quit the party.

Q. Congress and Mulayam, could either help each other or hurt each other. In the event they help each other through alliance, then BJP will benefit from consolidation.. at the cost of BSP. Else, it is going to be tough battle. What do you think? Asked by: Sree

A. Agree both Mulayam and Cong eyeing for the Muslim vote on UP so it gets divided BJP gets Hindutva votes while Maya's core vote-bank is intact.

Q. Is there any chances Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will lose election from Rai Bareli and Amethi. If BJP present strong contestant against them? I really wanna see them losing. Asked by: Jitesh, Mumbai

A. Tough especially as no one contests opp them.

Q. I feel Secularism/Hinduism is not the theme for this election. Youth today really don't care about this, coz they are more concerned about development. Don't you think, congress relying on consolidation of minority votes will boomrang itself? Asked by: Ninad

A. I think voters are smarter so they don't beyond a point care for these things but UP plays differently and so this polarisation will impact the voting pattern.

A. Doubt as no one puts up candidates against them though anger even in their constituency growing.

Q. Except Karnataka where ever there is direct fight between Cong and BJP then BJP is wining. What does this implication in 2014 election? Can congress cross 100 seats on its own? Asked by: Senthil

A. Tough anti-incumbency and huge anger against Congress.

Q. Do you really think that the BJP unit of UP is strong enough to encash on so called Modi wave? Asked by: Saiprasad

A. Think so and there is AMIT shah who is a v v good organisation person and close to Modi.

Q. What's your take on BJP's recovery in certain states like Rajasthan, Karnataka, Jharkhand, UP. And if these states don't vote decisively in favor them then how they'll reach near 200 seats even with NaMo? Asked by: Soumen Mukherjee

A. Again anger with Cong but I think in Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Karnataka Congress does have a fair chance.

Q. What in your opinion is the minimum of seats BJP should get in order to form a coalition with various parties to get into the power in 2014 elections? Asked by: Kartheek

A. 160.

Q. Pallavi, Modi has still not started campaigning. The trends in states like UP, Rajasthan, Delhi, haryana are projected to be in BJP favor. After Modi starts campaigning in full force the swing would be more in BJP's favour. What are your thoughts on this Asked by: Badrinath

A. Agree Modi does capture the need for strong decision making which upa lacks now.

Q. Pallavi, Don't you think BJP will emerge as stronger force in Rajathan. I travel quite a bit.. and my feedback is that Gehlot is a disappointment. Asked by: CSG

A. You would know better but I am told gehlot has picked up

Q. From CNN-IBN poll suggest that CONGRESS can get seats from Karnataka ..(which is Questionable) other than that they are completely wiped out so from where they can catch in on? Asked by: Shivang

A. Ya dismal scene for them though I think Karnataka does offer a ray of hope

Q. What would be the effect of Varun Gandhi, if he fight elections from Sultanpur? Won't it have a cascading effect on nearby constituencies? Asked by: bosechem

A. Not cascading but it means one seat less.

Q. Will the BJP get a greater fillip if Modi decides to fight from UP? Will it cross 40+ then? Asked by: Shiladitya Bose

A. Definitely.

Q. Won't media (incl CNN-IBN) agree that BJP has done the right thing by sending Amit Shah to Gujarat, especially after your poll suggests a stunning comeback by BJP in UP? If the same momentum continues, can the BJP cross 40+ in the State? Asked by: Shiladitya Bose

A. For BJP in UP, yes, it's the right thing.

Q. How is Congress able to retain its vote share in Rajasthan inspite of a strong anti incumbency and a strong leader in Vasundhra Raje? Asked by: Ankit

A. Is rake strong? Isn't BJP also divided? Gehlot's free medicine scheme has clicked.
