New Delhi: The man who had attacked Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was on Friday assaulted by members of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The party workers assaulted the attacker, Harvinder Singh, inside the Patiala House court where he was produced after his arrest on Thursday.

Singh was arrested on Thursday after he slapped Pawar at the NDMC Centre in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, the Patiala House court sent Singh to judicial custody till December 9.

He had slapped Pawar while shouting slogans against price rise and corruption cases. He was arrested by the police and taken to Parliament Street Police Station.

Singh was pushed aside as soon as he slapped Pawar, but he kept shouting slogans against price rise and corruption.

After slapping Pawar, Singh also brandished a small knife and threatened to kill politicians accused of being involved in corruption cases. He also said that he was not worried about the consequences.
