Hyderabad: NTR's widow evicted from house
Parvathi had been staying in the house since the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's death 15 years ago.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder late N T Rama Rao's widow N Lakshmi Parvathi was on Friday evicted from the house, in which she had been staying since the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's death 15 years ago.

According to the police, the house, located in posh Banjara Hills, was vacated following a court order.

Lakshmi Parvathi was not present in the house when the police shifted the items.

The house is owned by Uma Maheswari, a daughter of late Rao, and she was represented by her brother Ramakrishna in the matter.

"We are not doing anything. This is a court order. Bailiff has come," Ramakrishna said.

Parvathi had sought to stay in the house but lost the case in court.

Maintaining that she would abide by law, Parvathi, however, claimed other family members had a vindictive attitude towards her.

"I asked for a few days time to vacate as another house was not ready for me. They created a scene there by bringing police. What harm I have done to them?" she asked.

Late N T Rama Rao married Lakshmi Parvathi in early 1990s, after the death of his first wife, against his family's wishes.

The allegedly growing clout of Lakshmi Parvathi led to a revolt against NTR and his ouster from power subsequently.
