Hyderabad: The disciplinary committee of the Congress is likely to meet on Monday to discuss possible action to be taken against party MP Jagan Mohan Reddy. Jagan has been in the eye of the storm after his channel aired controversial clippings on Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi.
Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy has already lashed out at Jagan for violating party discipline. Jaipal Reddy had on Saturday said that a decision on Jagan would be taken soon.
"I think Jagan Mohan Reddy is violating party's discipline which is undesirable. Everybody knows that Sakshi TV is owned by him. Party leadership will decide what to do in this case," Jaipal had said.
Sakshi TV on Thursday night telecast a programme attributing Congress' debacle in Bihar to Rahul Gandhi's depleting magic.
"The Congress faced a massive defeat in Bihar polls, winning only four seats. Clearly, Rahul Gandhi's magic hasn't worked. The Congress is facing trouble in other states as well but the only state it is strong in is Andhra Pradesh and lately even that has been deteriorating. With a change of guard yet again in the state, it remains to be seen what Kiran Kumar Reddy will do now," the show said.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife on the inclusion of Praja Rajyam Party's chief Chiranjeevi into the Congress ministry of Andhra Pradesh after he received a call from Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on the formation of the new cabinet. The two are expected to meet in Hyderabad on Monday.
The winter session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly is starting on Monday and the proposal to include Chiranjeevi in the cabinet is likely to be resisted by Jagan supporters. Observers say if Chiranjeevi is included in Kiran's cabinet, Jagan will not wait to exit from the Congress.
