Congress postpones 'silent dharna' against Centre, says it will wait and watch Sushma's defence: sources
Sources say that the Congress will be waiting closely to what Sushma Swaraj says after which they will decide on dharna.

In a first sign revealing that the Congress might be the first to blink in the row with the Centre, party president Sonia Gandhi and party vice president Rahul Gandhi have been forced to postpone their 'silent dharna' in Parliament. According to sources, the Congress had to postpone the protest after they could not build a consensus among the opposition parties on strategy to counter the Central government.

Sources also say that the Congress will be waiting closely to what External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj says after which they will decide on dharna. Sources claim that the Congress has realised that other opposition parties are not in favour of asking for Sushma's resignation.

Facing fire over alleged links with former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi, Sushma has threatened to disclose the name of a senior Congress leader who pressured her to give a diplomatic passport to coal scam accused Santosh Bagrodia.

Apart from Sushma, the Congress has also been pressing for resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over alleged links with Lalit Modi.

The Congress is also likely to move an adjournment motion on the Vyapam scam seeking Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation.
