Child crushed under dais at Lalu's rally

Sasaram (Bihar): A 12-year-old boy died when a makeshift platform collapsed on him as a crowd gathered to wave at RJD supremo Lalu Prasad who took off in a helicopter after addressing an election meeting at Kochas in Bihar's Rohtas district on Wednesday.

DGP Neelmani said that soon after Lalu Prasad concluded his speech and boarded the helicopter, a crowd gathered on a platform constructed on Tuesday for the meeting of Congress leader Mohammad Azaharuddin in the same ground, close to the dais constructed for the RJD boss.

Another child, who suffered injury in the collapse, was admitted to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
