World Cup 2023 Semi-final Spots Locked: India Face New Zealand in Mumbai, South Africa to Lock Horns vs Australia in Kolkata
India will look to take revenge for the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal heartbreaking defeat against New Zealand. While South Africa will look to overcome the chokers' tag in the semi-final.

The four semifinalists of the 2023 ODI World Cup are locked as India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand finished the league stage in the top four positions respectively. India have one match left in the league stage but their eight wins have ensured that they will enter the semis as the table-toppers.

India have been the most dominant side in the tournament so far as they took complete advantage of the home conditions with collective performances from the players. The star players have been in great form for them as they are the only sides with an unbeaten record at the moment.

Rohit Sharma and Co. will face New Zealand in the semis as the latter finished fourth on the points table. India will look to take revenge for the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal heartbreaking defeat. Meanwhile, the Kiwis will look to book a place in the WC final on a trot.

India have already beaten New Zealand by four wickets in their meeting at the league stage match where Mohammed Shami claimed a fifer and Virat Kohli scored a fine 95 runs.

The two heavyweights will face each other in the knockout semi-final on Wednesday, 15 November.

That match will commence at 2 pm IST at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the Proteas will take on five-time World Champions Australia in the semi-final 2 at Eden Gardens Kolkata on November 16.

When the two teams met each other in the league stage South Africa outclassed the Aussies with a 134-run win but looking at their track record in semifinals, Pat Cummins and Co. will start as the favourites.

Chasing has been an area of concern for South Africa as the toss will also play a crucial role in the match which will be played on a trick pitch where the spinners get more assistance from the surface.

The World Cup final will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 19 November, where more than 100,000 fans are expected to attend for the climax of the 13th edition of the tournament.
