'Thank You CSK, It Was Epic': Dwaine Pretorius Announces He's Leaving Chennai Super Kings
South Africa's Dwaine Pretorius shared a post on his official Instagram account where he thanked the CSK franchise thus indicating his potential release.

Former South African international all-rounder, Dwaine Pretorius posted on his Instagram, thanking his IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), thus hinting at his release from the side.

Pretorius made his debut in the IPL for CSK in the 2022 edition of the IPL. He was bought by the side for his base price of 50 lakhs. In the 2022 edition, he featured in six games taking six wickets and scoring a total of 44 runs for the franchise.

The deadline for franchises to release the list of players they will be retaining ahead of the 2024 IPL auctions in December is coming up soon as fans will be curious to see who their respective side has retained for the upcoming season.

Dwaine Pretorius also announced his retirement from international cricket in January, earlier this year as well. His last international game was against India in a T20I game which took place in Indore in October last year. He was also part of the squad which travelled to England for the 2019 World Cup as well where he played three games and took five wickets in the tournament.

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings will look to bolster their side ahead of the 2024 season as they aim to defend their title. The side could also release Ben Stokes who is confirmed to miss the 2024 IPL season to manage his workload and prioritise the five-match test series against India and the T20 World Cup in 2024.

Trades will also be on as various franchises have also made swaps with other sides for another player as well. Among the notable trades include a swap deal between the Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Supergiants where Devdutt Padikkal and Avesh Khan made the switch.

Another trade that took place more recently was between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Sunrisers Hyderabad where Shahbaz Ahamed switched teams with Mayank Dagar as well.
