The controversy surrounding the cancellation of Ghulam Ali’s concert doesn’t seem to end. After the disappointment expressed by the entire film fraternity and music industry, singer Abhijeet has taken a route opposite to his contemporaries.
90’s famous singer tweeted his support for the cancellation and expressed his hatred towards the artists who come to India not because of their ‘merit’ but because of ‘dalas in Bollywood’. The controversial tweet reads, “#GhulamGigCancelled kitni baar bhagaya bt these shameless hv no self respect no work except terrorism bt we feed them along wd prestitutes”.
The singer didn’t stop here and kept re tweeting tweets that supported the cancellation of Ali’s concert. He targeted Mahesh Bhatt in his other tweet saying, “These qawwals don’t come here on their marit but due to paki Dalals #prestitute and @MaheshNBhatt”. The ‘Yes Boss’ singer said that he is not against the artist but he can’t see his country’s armymen dying because of terrorists from the neighbouring country.
Oscar winner Resul Pookutty criticised Abhijeet’s words and said it’s very regressive for an artist to say such words, to this Abhijeet replied, “I m a proud Indian 1st then an artist, Can’t bear d pain seeing our Jawans dying every day in borders & terrorism”
Abhijeet was known as the voice of Shah Rukh Khan in late 90’s and early 2000, gained popularity for his songs like ‘Chaand Taare’, ‘Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha’ and ‘Suno Na’. The singer has earlier created controversy through his tweets during the Salman Khan arrest case.
