The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light rainfall in several parts of northwest and central India while adding that the showers might lead to a fall in the minimum temperatures.
Meanwhile, residents of Delhi experienced light rainfall on Monday evening with people expecting a dip in the city’s air quality. The weather department also recorded that some parts of Maharashtra like Dahisar and Thane received light rainfall, following which the city’s AQI dropped to the ‘good’ category.
Several flights to and from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were affected after rain lashed parts of the national capital on Monday evening. Flights to and from Mumbai were also impacted due to bad weather and air traffic congestion.
Passengers were informed by IndiGo, Vistara and SpiceJet on social media regarding the delays and diversions of flights.

- Light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorm has been predicted by the IMD till November 29 over the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
- The weather department predicted that the minimum temperature over northwest and central India will dip by 2 to 3 degrees over the next two days.
- Heavy rainfall predictions have also been made over NicobarIslands till November 30.
- The weather department also predicted reduction in rain and the weather likely to remain dry with a dip in the temperature in most parts of Rajasthan. Light to moderate rainfall occurred in parts of Rajasthan with the highest of 6 cm in the Sinderi area of Barmer during the last 24 hours. As per the Met Department, several places in western Rajasthan received light to moderate rainfall.
- At least six districts of Marathwada witnessed unseasonal rains, with Jalna recording the highest 132.25 mm rainfall.As per officials, unseasonal showers lashed 107 revenue circles in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded and Beed on Sunday. As per reports, one person died in a rain-related incident in Hingoli, while 32 livestock were also killed in the rains.
- Many parts of west Madhya Pradesh and a few places in eastern parts of the state witnessed rainfall in the last 24 hours. IMD’s Bhopal centre senior meteorologist said that rains are expected to stop from Tuesday. The downpours sent the mercury down by a few notches in many parts of the state, turning the weather slightly cold.
- An ‘orange’ alert was issued in Madhya Pradesh by the IMD for Monday, saying hailstorms, gusty winds at the speed of 30 to 40 km per hour and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning were likely to occur at isolated places of west and east MP.
- Delhi witnessed light rains on Monday evening. Following the downpour, residents expected a fall in the city’s air quality, which was close to the severe category this morning. The regional weather office had earlier predicted light rains in few areas of the national capital region.
- Light rains were recorded in some parts of Maharashtra like Dahisar and Thane between Sunday night and Monday morning, as per the IMD data. The showers, however led to the Air Quality Index (AQI) to drop to the ‘good’ category in several pockets of the city.
- On Monday evening the average AQI of Mumbai was recorded at 51 (good category). The IMD in its forecast for the week said that Mumbai will witness dry weather conditions from November 28. However parts of Palghar, Thane and Raigad are expected to witness light to moderate rains on November 28 and 29.
