Actors Choi Woo-shik and Son Suk-ku have been roped in to be a part of director Lee Chang-hee’s upcoming Netflix K-drama A Killer Paradox. Based upon a webtoon, titled The Murderer’s Toy by Ggomabi, the comedy-thriller has been keeping fans on their toes. Now, taking their excitement into a frenzy, Netflix Korea has released the first posters and a teaser of the upcoming dark comedy thriller. The collaboration between Choi Woo-shik, best known for his performance in the Academy Award-winning film Parasite, and Sense8 star Son Suk-ku promises an edge-of-the-seat experience.
Choi Woo-shik plays the role of a seemingly ordinary college student Lee Tang. However, after he commits an accidental murder, Lee Tang realises that he possesses the supernatural power of differentiating between good and evil people. Meanwhile, Son Suk-ku essays the character of a sharp-witted detective Jang Nan-Gam, harbouring animal-like instincts and intuition, who keeps a watchful eye on Choi Woo-shik.

The newly-released poster captures Choi Woo-shik as Lee Tang dressed as a college kid. After accidentally killing a person, the realisation dawned upon him that the individual was a vicious criminal. Unable to get a grip on the situation, he exudes a perplexed expression, staring at the mess he got himself involved in. On the other hand, in the next poster, Son Suk-ku as Detective Jang Nan-gam arrests the attention of the masses with his broody aura and grim expression. He blows a chewing gum, his gaze piercing through something at a distance. As per Soompi, Jang Nan-gam will be triggered by the mysterious murder case which will eventually get more bizarre as he digs in to find out the truth.
A Killer Paradox’s teaser opens with Lee Jang leading a seemingly normal college life with glimpses from his home setting. However, things take a turn for the worse as one day his aggression takes over and he kills a person with a hammer. The now-dead man was the one who assaulted Lee Jang, leading to his death. Jang Nan-gam investigates the crime scene soon after, trying to solve the missing jigsaw pieces of the murder puzzle. He even makes an entry into a store where Lee Jang works, to find out more about the mysterious killing. The teaser ends with him passing a cryptic message, “Do you think regular chewing gum and bubble gum are different?"
A Killer Paradox is expected to premiere on Netflix on February 9.
