Kolkata: Bollywood badshah Sharukh Khan on Tuesday refused to comment on whether justice was served in the release of the juvenile involved in the 2012 Delhi gang rape case.
The juvenile was held with five other men for the brutal rape and murder of the woman paramedical student on December 16, 2012, and was tried under the Juvenile Justice Act. He was put in a remand home for three years, and released on Sunday after completing his sentence, amid protests by the parents of the victim and others in the national capital.
"I don't know this yet, I will tell you honestly. I am not going to answer anything which is a serious issue on a platform like this. And I would be on a platform to answer questions like this after I understand it myself," Shah Rukh said at a media conference here where he was with his co-star Kajol promoting the film 'Dilwale'.
"At this point of time, I believe it is completely a wrong place, wrong time to be on a film platform promoting a film, talking to people here, mostly entertainment journalists, and then getting to a serious issue like this. So please excuse me. I speak for Kajol too," said the actor, who was recently in news for comments on intolerance.
