Veer Zaara is considered to be one of the most iconic films of Yash Chopra. The cross-border love story, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead, earned widespread critical and commercial acclaim at the time of its release in 2004. Almost 20 years after the film first hit theatres, it is now all set to re-release in the cinema calls near you.
On Friday, Yash Raj Films announced that Veer Zaara will be re-releasing on September 13, 2024, across select cinema chains, including PVR INOX Cinemas, Cinepolis India and Moviemax Cinemas among others. The production house shared a poster of the film which featured SRK and Preity in their Veer and Zaara avatars respectively. The poster also showcases Rani Mukerji, who plays the role of a lawyer in the movie. “The era of romance is back!” the caption read. Check it out here:

Needless to say, the announcement has left fans excited. Commenting on the post, one of the fans wrote, “The greatest movie ever (sic).” “This is the best thing you’ve done in years,” added another. “Veer-Zaara will be remembered even after 200 years,” a third comment read.
Besides SRK, Preity and Rani, Veer Zaara also starred Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Kirron Kher, Boman Irani and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles.
In 2022, Preity Zinta marked 18 years of the film’s release, when she took to her Instagram handle and penned down a moving note. “There have been movies and there will be movies but nothing compares to Veer Zaara. Nothing compares to the magic of Yash Chopra’s films, his love for romance & the purity of his characters. Here’s to believing in good old-fashioned love and to loving someone with such pure intent that no boundary, no religion and no border can keep that love apart,” she said.
“Thank you Adi Chopra for creating the world of Veer Zaara and to all the cast and crew members that made this film so so special,” the actress added.
