Old Photo Of Tamil Actress Priyanka Kothari Going Viral; Internet Reacts

Indian cinema is replete with the names of many actresses who failed to make great strides in their professional careers despite good acting. One such actress is Priyanka Kothari who is often credited as Nisha Kothari or Amoha. Priyanka made her acting debut with the 2003 Tamil-language romantic comedy film Jay Jay, along with R Madhavan. The film turned out to be a super hit, and she became a star overnight. She, however, is currently away from the limelight. Meanwhile, an old picture of her has gone viral, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention. This photo has been clicked at the inaugural function of the Indian Football League. The Jay Jay actress draped herself in a yellow saree with an embroidered orange border.

Priyanka was born in West Bengal and moved to New Delhi while she was in Class 10. She then got her bachelor’s degree in physical science from Delhi University at Dyal Singh College, Delhi. Post college, she initially started her career in modelling and as a model, has appeared in many advertisement campaigns. She also appeared in the music video for the remix of the song Chadti Jawani Meri Chaal Mastani. This music video became one of the chartbusters of that time.

In 2003, she got her big breakthrough when actor R Madhavan recommended her for an audition in his movie after viewing her pictures. She made her acting debut with him in the Tamil film Jay Jay, credited as Amoga. Since then, she never looked back and acted in films like Sarkar, James, etc. On the personal front, Priyanka was married to a late industrialist named Bhasker Prakash.

She took a break from the cinema after her 2016 action film, Bullet Rani. Priyanka made her comeback last year with the romantic action drama film Ala Ila Ela. Written and directed by Raghav Dwarki, this film featured Mohammad Ali, Brahmanandam, and Haripriya in pivotal roles. Shamna Kasim, Nagendra Babu, Seetha, Sayaji Shinde and others also acted in this film. Backed by Kala Movie Makers, Ala Ila Ela was released at the cinema halls on July 21, 2023.
