Mammootty will next be seen in Turbo, directed by Vysakh.

Malayalam superstar Mammootty will be next seen in the film Turbo. The makers recently released its theatrical trailer which indicates the high-octane action scenes will form the major crux of the film. It has been written by Midhun Manuel Thomas and directed by Vysakh. It is produced by Mammootty under the banner of Mammootty Kampany.

After Pokkiri Raja and Madhura Raja, Vysakh’s Turbo is the fifth film under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Mammootty is playing the role of ‘Turbo Jose’ in the film. The story revolves around Jose’s struggle to keep his family safe from businessmen- politician Raj B Shetty in the film. Mammootty plays the role of a Jeep driver. The film is set to release in theatres worldwide on May 23. To promote the film, the makers recently attended a press meet where they expressed their love for their fans.

Mammootty said that he has been going strong for 42 years in the film industry because of the love from his fans. The actor said that he has no other option but cinema. He added that it’s like breathing for him. Mammootty also said that he trusts the audience more than Midhun Manuel Thomas trusts Vysakh.

“We stand on their courage. It’s been 42 years, I haven’t let go, I won’t let go again,” said Mammootty. Regarding the reception of the movie after its release, the actor said that he believes that the audience will accept his movie. However, things can go south too, he added.

“Some guesses will be wrong, some will be right. Everything is not always right for everyone, that’s all,” said Mammootty.

Regarding Mamootty’s character, makers said that Jose is not a rascal, a thug or a brawler but a truck driver who jumps at anything. Jose is not a mass hero, Jose is innocent, added the makers. The movie contains high-octane action scenes that have been filmed for 120 days. Apart from being an actor, Mammootty is also the producer of the film. When asked about the conflict of responsibilities, the actor said that even though his production house is producing films, he should get paid as per his work.
