PSG Admits Knowing About Leny Yoro's Health Concerns After Manchester United Star Sustains Injury
According to a recent report by L’Equipe, the PSG hierarchy was aware of Yoro’s injury concerns that led them to pull out of the race.

Manchester United find themselves in a tricky situation following the injury of Leny Yoro, who joined the club from LOSC Lille in this summer transfer window. The 18-year-old defender has signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils in a deal worth £58.9 million. Apart from the Premier League side, Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid were also keen to land Yoro this summer. Both clubs later backed off and Manchester United ultimately clinched the deal. According to a recent report by L’Equipe, the PSG hierarchy was aware of Yoro’s injury concerns that led them to pull out of the race.

“After Leny Yoro’s recent injury potentially breaking his metatarsal and being out for months, PSG assures that they knew about Yoro’s physical fragility and that’s why they didn’t match or pay anywhere close to what Manchester United paid for Yoro,” an X account named PSG Report shared, attributing the claims by L’Equipe’s Loic Tanzi.

Yoro made his first appearance for Manchester United in a pre-season friendly against Rangers on July 20 in Edinburg. The talented centre-back could have impressed fans as well as boss Erik Ten Hag with his defensive prowess. He started in the following fixture against fellow Premier League side Arsenal in Los Angeles. Yoro sustained a gruesome injury in the first half of the match, which Manchester United lost 2-1.

As per Manchester Evening News, the club suspected that Yoro had fractured his fifth metatarsal and the injury might keep him sidelined for nearly three months. The French footballer was seen walking on crutches and wearing a protective boot on his way to the training camp at UCLA.

Manchester United have not shared any official update regarding the injury of Yoro. Manager Erik Ten Hag is expected to address the topic in his press conference ahead of the next pre-season game against Liverpool, scheduled for August 4.

Striker Rasmus Hojlund also suffered a hamstring injury after his goal against Arsenal. Yoro and Hojlund were not in the squad for the Real Betis fixture where the Red Devils registered a narrow 3-2 victory. Marcus Rashford started the game but was forced to be taken off after picking up an ankle injury. Antony, who came on the pitch in the second half, managed to play only 23 minutes before limping off the ground.
