The case of the abduction of a popular actress is turning murkier.
The superstar Dileep and his director friend Nadirsha's statements have been recorded by the police. Dileep told the media that the statements are recorded on his complaint that the main accused in the sexual assault case Sunil Kumar has been blackmailing him.
Going by the complaint that the actor filed, Sunil had asked him to pay Rs 1 crore else his name would be revealed in this case. Though Dileep had filed this complaint in April, the new developments came after the details of his complaint was brought out to the media.
The top Malayalam actress also spoke out for the first time after the incident in February.
In a statement issued to the media the actress said, "I haven't spoken to the media after the incident because some top police officials told me that if the details are discussed in public, it will affect the case negatively. Now a lot of information is coming through the media and that is why I’m sharing this statement. The investigation is going on in full swing and I trust the police. Related to the case, many names are coming out, I am knowing about this only through the media. I have not shared anybody's name through social media. I have no proof to say that some people of whose names have come out are behind the attack, neither do I have proof to say they are not behind this attack....'
Without mentioning actor Dileep’s name, the actress stated that it had hurt her when an actor said that she and the main accused Sunil Kumar were friends. "If they make such baseless allegations against me, if needed I will take legal action. My conscience is clean. I am not scared of anyone. I will face all the investigation. I wish that those behind this should come out.."
Actor Dileep had told a channel that the actress and the main accused Sunil were friends. "We should be careful when we select our friends. All of them worked together in Goa."
This statement has irked many including the actress after which she came out with this media statement. Actor Dileep has put up an emotional message on Facebook saying that some people are trying to tarnish his image.
"Thanks to actors Salim Kumar and Aju Varghese. The support you gave me at this stage is very big. Some people have been trying to tarnish my image through social media and some online tabloids due to this case. This conspiracy is also happening at some news channels. They want to tarnish my image through their discussions," his post read.
He further stated that the main aim of the people is to isolate his fans from him and make sure his movies don’t do well at the box office.
He also mentioned that people are trying to crucify him for a mistake that he hasn’t committed and that he is ready for any test including brain mapping, lie detector or narco analysis to prove his innocence.
For the uninitiated, the actress, who was on her way from Thrissur to Kochi, was abducted in February by a gang of six persons, who reportedly took pictures of her to blackmail her. They released her a short while later.
The actress's driver Martin was arrested on the same night, while two others were arrested later in Coimbatore.
