Comedian Sunil Pal took to his Instagram handle recently to express happiness as Kapil Sharma has wrapped up his The Great Indian Kapil Show. In the video that Pal shared, he argued that Kapil is not an “OTT artist” and added that most of his audience watches television instead.

“Achha hai aapka show band ho raha hai. You are not an OTT artist. Aap TV ke, ghar ghar ke artist ho,” Sunil Pal said.

However, Pal’s video did not go down well with Kapil’s fans. Several users took to the comments section of Sunil’s video and expressed disappointment. One of the users argued that the former is “jealous” of Kapil, another sarcastically wrote, “Get well soon, Pal.”

Kapil Sharma wrapped up the last episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show last week. However, later, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Kiku Sharda revealed that the wrap-up is only “temporary”. He confirmed that the team will be back with the second season of TGIKS after a short break.

“We have done 13 episodes and the second season will come out soon. We have just wrapped up the first season. It was always meant to be like this. We have already planned the next season and it will come out soon. There won’t be a very huge gap,” he told us.

Kiku further admitted that the show used to run for a longer time on television but added that they switched to digital to try a different format. “On television, it used to be longer but it is about different formats. This is also interesting. There will be a short gap now and the second season will be back soon. It sounds like a wrap because we make it look like it. But it is temporary. We will be functioning soon again,” he added.

The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix on March 30, 2024, with Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as the first guests. In the second episode, the actor-comedian welcomed cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer. Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra graced the show’s third episode to promote their film, Amar Singh Chamkila. They were also joined by the director of their movie, Imtiaz Ali.

The fourth episode of Kapil’s show saw brothers Vicky and Sunny Kaushal recalling their childhood memories and making everyone go ROFL. The fifth episode, which premiered earlier this month, saw Aamir Khan as the guest. Following this, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol also graced the show.
