In Hinduism, Navratri is one of the most important festivals that celebrates the power of Shakti by worshipping Goddess Durga. It is celebrated four times a year, the two popular ones are Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri. Apart from these, there are two Gupt Navratris- Asadha and Magh Gupt Navratri.

Magh Gupt Navratri starts from the Pratipada date of the Shukla Paksha of Magh month. In the Sanatan Dharma, every fast observed during auspicious occasions has great importance. This year, Magh Gupt Navratri started on February 10 and will conclude on February 19. On this day, 10 Mahavidyas of the Goddess is practised.

As per religious beliefs, Tantra Sadhana is done during the Magh Gupt Navratri. Ayodhya’s astrologer, Pandit Kalki Ram shared that as per the astrological calculations, 16 auspicious yogs will form in the nine days of Magh Gupt Navratri. Apart from Sarvartha Siddhi Yog, Pushkar Yog, Siddhi Yog, Sadhya Yog, Shubh Shukla, Indra Amrit Siddhi Yog, and Shiva Yog, a total of 16 yogas are forming. One should worship Goddess Durga by following all the rituals to seek her blessings and keep troubles at bay.

Astrologer Ram shared that since ancient times, there has been a tradition to worship the 10 Mahavidyas, who are a group of ten Hindu Tantric goddesses namely- Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshvari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Shodashi. The Guhyati guyha-tantra associates the Mahavidyas with the Dashavatara (10 incarnations) of Lord Vishnu and states that Mahavidyas are the source from which the avatars of Vishnu arise.

Dus Mahavidyas are manifestation of Goddess Parvati. Ten Mahavidyas means ten types of wisdom and are mentioned in the Hindu Scriptures.
