BANGALORE: Apprehending arrest, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the Upper Bhadra case as well as in one of the five denotification cases filed against him.Yeddyurappa also sought quashing of an FIR filed by the Lokayukta police against him in connection with the Upper Bhardra case. Both the cases are likely to come up for hearing on Wednesday.Acting on a case filed by JD(S) leader Y S V Datta accusing Yeddyurappa of awarding works under the Upper Bhadra project to the highest bidder after receiving a `13-crore kickback, the Lokayukta court on August 8 had issued summons to the former CM to appear before it on August 27. This apart, the court had also directed the Lokayukta SP to register an FIR against Yeddyurappa and investigate the matter.Following this, an FIR was registered against Yeddyurappa under various Sections of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the investigation is on. The Lokayukta police have to submit the inquiry report to the court on or before September 3.Another case where Yeddyurappa sought anticipatory bail is in connection with one of the five private complaints filed by advocates Sirajin Basha and K N Balraj. In this case, the former CM is accused of illegally denotifying land acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). The Lokayukta court had also issued summons to Yeddyurappa on August 8 asking him to appear before it on August 27 with regard to this case.
