Bhopal: World Bank (WB) Managing Director Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, has invited the state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to World Bank's headquarters in Washington to share the experience of development schemes implemented for women and children in the state.

Inviting Chouhan, WB has underlined its intention to expand engagement in a wide range of sectors in Madhya Pradesh, according to a letter written to the Chief Minister by Iweala.

"The WB wants to hear MP's development experience, especially regarding development of women and children," the letter said.

"The WB holds that these innovations and learning needs to be spread," it added.

In the letter, the WB MD had mentioned her experience of a field visit to MP's Raisen district and lauded the welfare schemes being run there, a government statement said.
