KOCHI: Terming the allegations raised by Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan in ice cream case as ‘’serious in nature,’’ the Kerala High Court on Friday observed that they have serious implications. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J Chelameswar and Justice P R Ramachandra Menon made the oral observation while considering the petition filed by V S Achuthanandan seeking a CBI probe into the criminal case registered against Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and K A Rauf on the basis of the disclosures made by Rauf in connection with the ice cream parlour sex scandal case. ‘’Achuthanandan had made allegations not only against the government, but also against several other persons, so the responsibility of the court doubles. Several points raised in the petition are of a serious nature and are having serious implications,’’ the court said. The High Court posted the case for further hearing to September 26.Advocate-General K P Dandapani, appearing for the state govt, submitted that even after a change of guard in May 2011, the special investigation team appointed by the Achuthanandan Govt has not been removed from the task.
