BHUBANESWAR: Two youths died in two incidents in the City on Tuesday.Debi Prasad Rath, 35, a resident of Unit-VIII, died on the spot near DAV School after a multi-utility vehicle ran over him. The mishap occurred when Rath was returning home on his bike from Balipatna along with his sister at around 8.30 am.The motorcycle skidded off the road after being hit by the van from behind. However, instead of applying the brake, the nervous car driver, who was learning driving, accelerated the van crushing Rath under its wheel. His sister escaped with minor injuries.Although the car has been seized, police are yet to arrest the driver. In another incident, a helper of a tourist bus was ran over by the same bus while the driver was trying to park the vehicle near Lingaraj temple.The bus carrying pilgrims from Puri reached near Lingaraj temple at around 2.30 pm. The helper, identified as Mahendra Panda of Khuntuni area in Cuttack district, was helping the driver from the rear of the bus to park the vehicle near the temple when the mishap occurred. The driver of the bus is absconding.
