'Those Who Divide India...': PM Modi Responds To Criticism Of His Visit To CJI's Residence For Ganpati Puja
PM Modi criticised the Opposition for politicising his visit to CJI DY Chandrachud's residence for Ganpati Puja. He defended the visit as a cultural and spiritual event, not a political one.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed the Opposition for politicising his visit to Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud’s residence for Ganpati Puja, and said those who divide India cannot accept the festivities of Ganpati Puja.

Addressing a gathering in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar, after the inauguration of development works, the Prime Minister said, “Ganesh Utsav is not just a matter of belief for us.”

“During the fight for the country’s independence, Lok Manya Tilak, through Ganesh Puja, united the people of the nation. Today also, when there is Ganesh Puja, people from all communities take part in it,” he added.

“During the British time, people had a problem with Ganesh Utsav, the same is being witnessed now. The Congress and its ecosystem is frustrated because I took part in Ganesh Puja. In Karnataka, these people put Ganesh idol behind bars, and this hatred is dangerous for the country,” PM Modi said.
