Ranchi: A jukebox placed in a temple devoted to Lord Shiva 10 kilometres from Wakaner in Rajkot, Gujarat, plays hymns when visitors insert a coin in it.

According to the devotees, the presence of the jukebox is a diversion of sorts for kids. It allows parents and elders to offer their prayers without hassle.

"It is good for youngsters, for whom wearing the traditional attire is a headache. The hymns from the juke box is a blessing to us and sounds good as well," a visitor Sandeep Dattani said.

The hymns from the jukebox lend a religious feel to the temple's surroundings.

The jukebox idea was introduced during the month of Shravan to attract as many people to the temple.

"We recorded more visitors during this Sharavan month. The installation of machine has caught the attention of the people and is convenient to them," the temple priest said.

The temple is said to be about 700 years old.
