HYDERABAD: Three touts who used MLAs' signed letterheads to secure railway emergency quota reservations were caught while buying and selling Tatkal tickets unauthorisedly on Wednesday.A South Central Railways vigilance team raided the computerised passenger reservation counter at the Assembly complex and caught Syed Vali Peeran, K Ramakrishna and B Giri Babu, all residents of New MLA Quarters, red-handedThey have been arrested.“The trio were caught while indulging in unauthorised buying and selling of Tatkal tickets at a premium for various journeys,'' an official press release said.Tatkal tickets worth Rs 40,000 and Rs 24,100 in cash were recovered from them.It was found that Syed Vali and Ramakrishna were securing reservations on trains through the Emergency Quota (EQ) for wait-listed customers by using the letterheads of politicians.Sources said they were getting the EQ letterheads from the offices of some MLAs.“We also found filled and signed and blank and signed letterheads of various politicians with them.They were used for securing EQ for their customers,'' the release saidThe raids were carried out following information gathered by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
