An officer of Tata Steel was shot at and critically injured by unknown gunmen near former Chief Minister Arjun Munda's house at Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur, the police said on Tuesday.

An officer of Tata Steel was shot at and critically injured by unknown gunmen near former Chief Minister Arjun Munda's house at Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur, the police said on Tuesday.

The officer Ratnesh Raj is a manager of Equipment Maintenance Services of Tata Steel. Following the incident late on Monday night, Raj was rushed to Tata Motors Hospital, where he was admitted in ICU, the police said.

He was shot when he came out of his car and was going towards an apartment to meet his friend, sources said.

"The police have recovered three empty cartridges from the spot. No arrests have been made as yet but raids were being conducted to apprehend the culprits," Superintendent of Police (City) Karthik S said.

On February 22, Tata Motors AGM Brajesh Sahay was gunned down near his residence in Nildih under Telco police station.
