'Itni Jaldi Mubarakbad na de Mujhe': Shahid Afridi Recalls Conversation With Yuvraj Singh After India's Thrilling Win Over Pakistan in New York
Shahid Afridi looked disappointed in the video as he's consoled by Yuvraj Singh after Pakistan's defeat to India at the T20 World Cup.

Shahid Afridi was left heartbroken after Pakistan suffered a close defeat to arch-rivals India in a T20 World Cup match on Sunday. The legendary allrounder could not believe how Pakistan’s batting collapsed chasing a paltry target of 120 in New York.

In a clip, Afridi could be seen having a chat with India legend Yuvraj Singh after the match.

Yuvraj, who is an ICC ambassador at the ongoing T20 World Cup, was present at Nassau County Cricket Stadium for the thrilling contest between the two Asian giants.

“Lala, why are you sad? What happened?” Yuvraj says at the beginning of the video.

In response, Afridi vented his frustration, saying, “What do you think? Am I not supposed to be sad? Was this a match we (Pakistan) should have lost?”

Afridi then revealed that Yuvraj thought at one stage that Pakistan will secure an easy win in the Group A fixture when they were 40 runs short of the target.

“Yuvraj told me ‘Lala, congratulations! I am leaving, won’t watch the rest of the game’. I told him ‘Yuvi, chaalis runs bohot hain is pitch pe. Itni jaldi mubarakbad na de mujhe’ (40 runs are a lot on this pitch, don’t congratulate me so early),” Afridi said.

Yuvraj replied, “I told you Pakistan will win but I was still confident that we (India) can win it from there. Winning and losing are part of the game, what’s important is that our bonhomie should continue.”

The pitch in New York continues to be a challenging one for the batters.

India suffered a batting collapse after being put in to bat by Pakistan.

Rishabh Pant contributed with a vital 42-run knock helping India to post 119 runs. Pakistan’s pace duo of Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf picked up three wickets each.

During the run chase, Pakistan lost one wicket in the first ten overs but failed to continue the momentum. The situation turned worse after Jasprit Bumrah dismissed well-set Mohammad Rizwan in the 15th over. The incoming batters failed miserably as Pakistan managed 113/7 in 20 overs.
