BANGALORE: At the golden jubilee inauguration of the Association for the Mentally Challenged, Governor H R Bharadwaj said that Raj Bhavan was working towards making Karnataka a tolerant and liberal society for the mentally disabled.Speaking at the event, he said, “Raj Bhavan is open to anyone with ideas for making the state more tolerant.” Reminiscing on his association with Spastic Society, the Governor said, “While I was a minister, I worked towards the education of tribals.One of them is now a member of parliament.” The Association for the Mentally Challenged was established in 1961 by Sudha V Reddy, a former member of parliament and activist along with 4 others
