Sobha case: CI removed

KOCHI: Circle Inspector Abdul Salam, who led the team probing the sexual abuse of a minor at Varapuzha, was removed from the case on Wednesday for allowing Sobha John, prime accused in the case, to talk to reporters while she was brought to Varapuzha.She was brought there from Bangalore, where Sobha and three others were arrested by the Salam-led team on Tuesday.Salam was also rapped for conducting a press meet without the permission of top officials. The case will now be investigated by Vadakkekara CI Sabu George. Salam’s termination was recommended by DySP, Aluva.This is for the second time that the investigating officer in the Varapuzha sex scandal is being removed.
