The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET UG results on June 4. A total of 67 students have secured rank 1 this year. As many as 24,06,079 students for NEET 2024 of which 23,33,297 appeared and 13,16, 268 students qualified. Three students from West Bengal have scored 720 out of 720 in NEET-UG, which places them at AIR 1 along with other students. One of them is Saksham Agarwal from Siliguri. He studied at Siliguri’s Nirmaan Vidya Jyoti School and has topped the NEET UG 2024. Saksham calls his father, a doctor, an inspiration to him to achieve heights. He wishes to study surgery and get admission to AIIMS, Delhi.
Saksham Agarwal was shocked to know that he topped the nationwide medical entrance exam. He said that he was confident of getting a good result but securing full marks was something which he never expected. “Preparation for this exam was going on in schools as well as private institutes on Sevak Road. Apart from the school, the teachers of the institute have helped me a lot.” said Saksham Agarwal. Regular classes have helped him a lot in securing full marks, he added.
Saksham Agarwal was always a meritorious student in school. He passed the class 12 examination this year with 90.2 per cent. After passing the board exam two years ago, Saksham decided to become a doctor. When asked about his preparation for NEET, Saksham Agarwal said,
“I have given up a lot. I studied according to my daily routine. I have prepared by following the advice of the teachers. I gave more emphasis on NEET preparation than board exams.” He stayed away from social media and used to study six hours daily at home. Saksham Agarwal also loves playing the piano in his free time.
Hailing from a medical background, Saksham Agarwal was always clear about his career choice. He wants to help people, hence he chose this profession.
“Whenever there was any difficulty in my studies, my father helped. I saw my father crying after knowing the NEET result. It would not have been possible without parents.” said Saksham Garwal while talking to Local18.
The father of the topper from Siliguri is Dr. Chetankumar. “I will tell my son to be persistent in his goals in the future. Our blessings will always be with him.” said Dr Chetankumar.
