Shamli: 50-year-old farmer shot dead by five persons

A 50-year-old farmer was shot dead by five persons at his fields at Hind village in Shamli district in Muzaffarnagar, police said.

Zafaryab was shot dead on Tuesday evening when he had gone to irrigate his fields under Thanabhawan police station, they said.

Three of the accused have been identified as Mashok Ali, Rakib, Farman, while the identity of two others is yet to be ascertained, they said.

A case has been registered against the five persons. However, no arrest has been made so far.

Police is conducting operation to nab the accused, they said.
